ECB Hundred Cricket

Bigfoot Creative was the ECB’s partner of choice to bring their cricket revolution, The Hundred, to unforgettable life. This cricket format is disruptive, youthful, and transforms the way the public enjoys the game, with Bigfoot’s design solution reflecting these values perfectly.

 

Eight new cricket teams were created with brands to match, plus a bold, overarching master brand and broadcast package. The branding needed to work across all platforms so that every element was consistent and aligned across broadcast, in stadium and online.

The Hundred features a completely new scoring system and we were briefed to change the way cricket fans read the score. It needed to be simple, easy to understand, and dramatically different. Bold colours, patterns and player photography were used to create fun title sequences that showcased the stars of the game in an energetic, youthful way.
The left and right animating columns represented the number of remaining balls and the batting team’s current score. The animation delivered urgency and engagement to the graphic scoring system.
The Hundred Cricket League was created to attract families and a younger demographic to the sport. The format is action packed, loud and disruptive, and this tone of voice flowed through the entire broadcast package we created for BBC Sport and Sky Sports.
